INFO- AND BROKERAGE EVENT FP7/2007

TOPICS. The event is focused on selected NMP/ICT topics in the first calls of FP7. These topics are related to advanced technologies and materials of interest for a wide range of industries. They are also reflecting the interest of some European Technological Platforms.

ORGANIZERS. The event is organized by a number of European networks and projects, with the participation of the European Commission and European Technological Platforms. The local organization is provided by the EU project MINOS – EURONET (www.minos-euro.net).

INVITED SPEAKERS. The “info” part of the event will allow the participants to attend presentations of key EC officials: Director Nicholas Hartley, Directorate “Industrial technologies”, DG Research; Dirk Beernaert, Head  of unit “Nanoelectronics”, Directorate “Components, systems and engineering”, DG Information Society and Media. Representatives of European technological platforms such as: MINAM/Manufuture (micro- and nanofabrication), Nanomedicine, Nanoelectronics etc. are expected to give presentations. Some networks of excellence (NoEs) and other projects (IPs, CAs) acting as co-organizers will have a time slot for brief presentations of the offer of their consortia for FP7 calls.

BROKERAGE FOR PROPOSALS IN FP7. INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION.  The “brokerage” part of the event will allow the direct interaction between participants: they will have room for hanging posters and tables for computer presentations or display of printed materials.  A significant international participation is expected, due to the involvement of on-going projects and the possibility to provide grants for some NMS participants. Preferred topics for brokerage will be defined beginning of March (see on-line brokerage, below).

ON-LINE BROKERAGE. The event will be preceded and followed by on-line brokerage allowing exchange of information related to proposals for FP7 calls, in a specific selection of topics (see above). The participants to the on-line exchange of information (see www.minos-euro.net/brokerage) have to complete a template with basic information and information related to their competences and interest for one or another topic. This information can be updated any time by the participant. All relevant information related to the scientific content of the call is readily available. Once the information is sent, the participant can, in a matter of seconds, have access to the database containing all information. The search can be performed selecting topics, keywords, countries, types of organisation.  The information can be also freely used for other brokerage events. The individual presentation will be available in pdf form for printing or mailing.

PROGRAMME OF THE EVENT. Thursday 22nd of March, morning: info event NMP;   22nd of March, afternoon, evening: brokerage event NMP/ICT; Friday 23rd of March, morning and early afternoon: info and brokerage event ICT (combined MINOS-NEXUS event).

PRACTICAL DETAILS. Bucharest is readily accessible by plane from the most important European airports. The participants can be assisted for booking the accommodation and easy access to local transportation.  Posters can be printed and installed by the organizers, if requested.  For questions, contact the organizers at minos@nano-link.net
