Academic Qualification: Ing. (MSc.) (1979) and PhD. (1989) in Microelectronics, both from Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava; Assoc. Prof. (1994) and Professor (2003) in Electronics from Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STU).

He is vice-head of the Microelectronics Department, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, STU, Bratislava and deputy director of the International Laser Center, Bratislava.

His teaching and research activities are oriented in Optoelectronics, Lasers, Optical Communication Systems and Optical Diagnostic. As the principal investigator of national and international projects he took a lead in the research and development of optoelectronic devices, all optical communication systems, laser technology and diagnostic. He is a local manager of the FP6-2004-IST-NMP-2-017481 - Novel Nano-Template Technology and Its Applications to the Fabrication of Novel Photonic Devices (2007-2009) and was/is involved as a Slovak delegate of Management Committee in COST project P11 (2006-2007) and COST MP 0702 (from 2008).

The results of his scientific work were published in more than 150 papers in journals and conference proceedings. He had invited lectures at various international conferences (ICTON, ASDAM, Laser Physics etc.).

He is a member of SPIE, IEEE and CSSF and member of editorial board of Journals Optics (Elsevier) and Welder (SK) and a Member of WG 6 PHOTONICS21 European Technology Platform.
